Meet my 3-year-old grandson Elijah, who is the middle child of three in his family. The day this picture was taken, the evidence was plain to see that he had been caught, when his mother asked him, “Elijah, where’s the marker?” There’s no denying it when you’re wearing the evidence around your mouth, but it was worth a try as he smiled and replied, “What marker mommy?”
Now when you are the middle child, sometimes you get overlooked and have to go to drastic measures to get attention. Since the oldest is always going to be the first and the baby is always going to be last, it puts the middle child in a place of his own. After all, if you can’t be first and you're not last, where does that leave you? Finding your own place and doing whatever it takes to get noticed. Even if it means using a blue marker for something more than paper and walls.
